Through D&K’s on-call contract for Agricultural Water Quality Services with the Agency of Agriculture, firm staff designed a new roofed barnyard and Heavy Use Area (HUA). Firm engineers led the planning, design, and construction oversight of a new 10,200-sf bedded pack facility covered by a Clearspan Super Structure (steel arch truss frame and synthetic fabric cover) on a reinforced concrete foundation. Design for additional water quality improvements included clean water diversion using tiled roof drains to divert runoff around the barnyard. D&K conducted site investigations, preliminary and final design, and construction phase services. Consultant services included soil investigations; civil and structural engineering; plans and specifications, cost estimates; shop drawing reviews; and engineer’s certification.
